We maintain an adult Parish Choir formed of around 15–20 volunteers from the local community who enhance our main Sunday worship through their singing. Many of our members are working professionals who kindly give their time voluntarily. A number also sing with other choirs and some are ex-university choral scholars. The Choir always strives for high standards and is one of the best church choirs in the area.

We sing a diversity of music including congregational mass settings, psalms, hymns, choral anthems and motets. We explore a wide range of repertoire, covering music from the 16th to 21st century, from Tallis and Byrd to Bob Chilcott and James MacMillan, via Purcell, Wesley, Mendelssohn, Bruckner, Fauré, and among many others.

The Choir rehearses every Wednesday during term time from 7.45–9pm and on Sundays from 9.15 before the morning service. In addition to regular Sunday morning worship, the Choir sings at occasional Evensongs and Carol Services, at major festivals in the church’s calendar, and participates in the Barnes Music Festival. Attendance at every rehearsal and service is not compulsory but rather encouraged.

The Director of Music, Owen Elsley, is always happy to hear from those who may wish to sing with the Choir. While there is no formal audition, we usually advise an informal meeting with the Director to understand a little more about the Choir and its commitment, and to hear how your voice might fit with the Choir.
